things the public doesn't realize a carrier has to do

What would you say are some things that the general public doesn't realize a carrier does? One thing is the saving of vacation packs by the carrier. When I was just a customer and wanted my papers saved for vacation, I assumed that they were saved by the newspaper, in a warehouse or somewhere, and when I returned, the carrier would deliver them all on that day.

When I became a carrier, I soon realized that I would be the one saving the papers. I've been lucky and not had too many, but if even 10 customers wanted papers saved for 2 weeks, that's quite a pile that you have to keep somewhere.

I think that carrier has a hard job and with assignmentmasters, it becomes even harder. We need to appreciate them for everything that they are doing. It's not an easy job and requires a lot of hard work!

The biggest things most

The biggest things most don't know is we get charged for those dumb missing paper complaints or wet paper complaints. I rarely get a complaint but I do have red flag customers who always complain-here we call then CBs (crybabies). There have been a few instances where I had to leave a note stating basically that I personally have to pay for all these complaints & if they have a problem to call me at home....surprise surprise the complaints stopped. Usually when the complaints stop it's from those who blatantly LIE just to get a free paper or more coupons on Sundays. They think they're slick sometimes for some reason.

If they only knew the

If they only knew the expenses carriers had from month to month. I think they would be a little more appreciative of the effort we put forth at 3am-6am getting the paper to them.

If they only knew I had to

If they only knew I had to pay for all those supplies to deliver them a nice, dry, tightly wrapped paper!

If the public only knew I

If the public only knew I had to pay for the papers they call and complain about. When they do that instead of call me directly, a replacement paper costs me over $5. I could have got them a new one for a buck or less!

Wow, very good point. Saving

Wow, very good point. Saving those papers builds up in my garage, you are soooooo right about that one.
